Tidal Study: Distance
Product Details
Part of the Tidal Study series, this Samantha Davies black and white photography art print studies water through the perceptual eye. Each photograph isolates a moment of tension or release, inviting a quieter, more attentive way of seeing.
The photographs exist both as works in their own right and as visual research, informing the spatial and emotional qualities of her sculptural forms. Together, they reflect an ongoing inquiry into rhythm, containment, and the subtle architecture of feeling.
Tidal Studies are produced as limited editions prints (editions of 3), each printed on paper selected for its tonal range and depth.
Presented as A3, the works are float mounted within handmade black frames that are painted and waxed, finished with museum grade, UV protective, non reflective glass. This presentation enhances depth and shadow, allowing the work to sit quietly within its frame.
Each product is made to order and, in some cases, may be one of a kind. Return terms may vary by brand, product type, and whether the item is bespoke or made to order. Please refer to the product page for specific return information. Returns and Refunds Products from standard collections
Artist
Samantha Davies
Samantha Davies works across sculpture, textile, and photography, developing a cohesive visual language shaped by rhythm, restraint, and material sensitivity.
Alongside her sculpted silk works, she creates black and white photographic studies of water. These images are not documentary but perceptual, formed through close attention to surface, movement, and pause.
Based in the UK, Davies works with collectors and design-led studios, creating work that holds atmosphere and presence within interior spaces.
